Since its inception in 1984, EDC has
experienced an evolution driven by its clients in a changing
information services environment. Founded initially to help
with systems and programming development, EDC saw its role
evolving as clients needed documentation and training
assistance.
This shift reflected a
fundamental industry change in the emergence of powerful
system development tools and the rapid reduction of
project life cycle time. More than ever, companies
began to see the importance of timely documentation and
training.
They also recognized that
system development teams charged with these tasks did
not have the inclination, training or time to perform
them effectively.
